As you wake up one morning you begin with your daily routine. Get up, make your bed, eat breakfast, go steal a shoe from a flesh eating dog for the sake of doing one hundred favors for cats so you won’t turn into one yourself. How about that for putting a little spice in your life? I know the plot of this anime isn’t exactly a ‘fresh new face’ but you got to admit that Junpei is just hilarious when he’s bickering with his friends.
Oh and the new character of today is… Kanoko Sumiyoshi. You know, that hot brunet chick from the first anime art pic? Lol
This episode starts out with Junpei having a rather interesting chat with his best friends, Nyamsus and her trusty sidekick Tama! (cat with scary face on top pic) But this time they add yet another twist to this curse of his. If he were to tell someone about the curse, not only will his progress but the other person will also be cursed. The best part about this scene is how you can call Tama a very cruel creature but that would still end up being an understatement, *whimpers*.
Ahh, the good ol’ childhood friend wrestling match. Obviously we are shown that Junpei doesn’t take a liking to Kanoko anymore. Why you ask? Well, the flash-back she has explains to us that she gave him a cat doll as a present and then she walked into the classroom only to discover that he had given her precious present to Mizuno. Anyways, I love how he has that Romeo side to him when it comes to talking with Mizuno, Bravo! But when it comes to Mountain Witch, *cough*, I mean Kanoko, he turns back into his Super Saiyan self again. ~sizzle~
This time the “distressed cat of the day” is a cat who temporarily taken residency at the school. It has been fed by one of the students there and the stray cat want Junpei to tell that person, “Thank you so much for everything. I love you”. Note: the stray cat describes her as kind, sweet-smelling, and about the same age as Junpei. OK kids, now it’s time for ‘Math With Junpei’. Practical way to learn algebra right? No, since he ended in utter failure only having to confess to his ‘Oh-so-beloved Mountain Witch from Silent Hill’. Lmao
I just had to put this one of Junpei and Kanoko, on a count that I thought she looked rather cute in this one. Since he hesitated too much the first time around he ended up being blackmailed into acting as Kanoko’s slave, and this is the portrait of how happy he is. XD Oh, and congrats for AIC for making me laugh every single time I see Mizuno’s face. I just can’t hold it in, *continues laughing after rolling on floor*
Ok, I’m sick of giving the recap, XD. Obviously this is one of those question and answer plots, where a challenge is given and completed in the same episode. Summing it all up, Junpei just spends the whole time as Kanoko’s slave and eventually breaks the tension between them by telling her that he didn’t give away the cat doll. He was just showing her. Aww, isn’t that sweet? After that he finally gather the courage to tell her strait up, “Thank you for everything. I love you!” I was actually pleased with the mood they set for that scene. Cute.
One strong point in this anime is that they didn’t suddenly bombard us with all of the main characters. They took the steady approach and used this episode to give a good introduction for Kanoko. I also remember seeing the original series art of Nyan Koi and I couldn’t stand waiting to see the cute chick with long hair. But it was already the second episode and she still didn’t appear, (note: I had no idea it was going to be the mountain witch, lol). But then I was surprized to find out a little makeup could make a Hot Brunet turn into the Grudge from The Ring. XD
For now I’m really enjoying it. I just hope they keep their complexity of thier plots either the same or better, but (please for the sake of my boredom) I hope it doesn’t just stay with that Q&A stuff like usual. *sighs*
